Impulse of a Legend
Live 9’s Convolution Reverb can accommodate any impulse response (or IR) sample you throw into it. To that end, Bedroom Producers Blog has collected a set of IRs sampled from the legendary Boss GT-8 multi-effects unit. With a pioneering history in stompbox effects, Boss effects have been used by guitarists, keyboard players, and others for decades. the GT-8 IRs are available both as raw waveforms, and as presets for Live 9’s Convolution Reverb, ready to launch.
Good news if you’ve been waiting for someone to deliver the goods on your classic-synth wishlist for some time. This year, Santa’s got a Pack in his sack.
Free Instruments For Ableton 10
It’s filled with sounds from vintage synths and works with any version of Live 10. So toss the turkey leg and feast instead on Singularities, a specially prepared selection of single-sample synth-instruments by Ableton sound designer Huston Singletary.
Huston has put a lot of love and experience into recreating the quirks and nuances of classic gear for the Pack’s 40 Instrument Racks, with a focus on using onboard Sampler and Simpler features (like filter envelopes and key tracking) to allow expressive and realistic playback reminiscent of the original hardware.
On top of these instruments, there are plenty of MIDI clips to start ideas, and two retro-sounding Drum Kits. So this is no pair of novelty socks – you’re likely to use the sounds again and again.
